合成方法編輯
由2-萘酚在硫酸存在下與乙醇醚化而得。將2-萘酚溶于無(wú)水乙醇，滴加濃硫酸，加熱回流10h。反應(yīng)液傾入5%的氫氧化鈉液中，析出灰白色結(jié)晶，過(guò)濾，用冷水洗至pH=7.5，干燥，得2-乙氧基萘。收率96%。粗品可用減壓蒸餾精制，收集138~140℃（1.6kPa）餾分。也可由硫酸二乙酯或鹵代乙烷與2-萘酚鈉鹽反應(yīng)來(lái)制取。 [1]

該品具有橙花和洋槐花的香味，并伴有甜味和草莓、菠蘿樣的芳香，常用作皂用香精（橙花香）、廉價(jià)的化妝香精、草莓香精等調(diào)合香料。在醫(yī)藥上用于乙氧萘青霉素鈉的原料。
